Ruslan Stefanchuk, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, congratulated Julia Klöckner on her appointment as President of the Bundestag of the Federal Republic of Germany. He had the honour of being the first foreign parliamentarian to send his congratulations upon her election.
During the phone talk, the counterparts discussed the security situation in Ukraine. Ruslan Stefanchuk highlighted the importance of consistent support for Ukraine from its partners, especially in the face of russia's full-scale aggression. In this context, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada thanked Ms Klöckner for her clear and principled position on further support for Ukraine.
‘Mrs. President assured that Germany will remain a committed partner of our country and will promote the development of interparliamentary cooperation,’ Ruslan Stefanchuk said.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine also invited Julia Klöckner to visit Ukraine and wished her success in her responsible state activity for the benefit of the German people and for the sake of strengthening European unity.
