The Congress of Deputies of the Kingdom of Spain has become a signatory to the joint statement of the world parliaments which condemns Russian aggression and calls for further support for Ukraine. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk said.
He thanked the Spanish MPs and the President of the Congress of Deputies, Francesca Lluc Armengol Socias, for supporting Ukraine.
“Spain has reaffirmed its commitment to justice and international law by joining the joint statement of the parliaments condemning Russian aggression and calling for further support for Ukraine,” Ruslan Stefanchuk noted.
In the statement, joined by Spain, the world's parliaments emphasize the need to strengthen sanctions against Russia, return Ukrainian prisoners, increase aid for Ukraine and promote its Euro-Atlantic integration.
"Diplomatic support and the unity of parliaments play a crucial role in our fight. I invite other states to join this initiative, as only by joint efforts we can ensure a just peace and security for the whole world,” the Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament emphasized and stressed the importance of diplomatic unity in this critical period.
"Ukraine is grateful to every country that supports it in its resistance to aggression. We are stronger together!” the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine underlined.
