On 28 February 2022, the fifth day after the start of russia's full-scale invasion, Ukraine officially applied for membership in the European Union.
It was a decision of the entire state — the President, the Verkhovna Rada, the Government and the entire Ukrainian people, who are fighting for their European future. The document signed together with the President Volodymyr Zelenskyi and Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal cemented the irreversibility of this choice, which became the common will of Ukrainians.
In June 2022, Ukraine was granted candidate status, and on 25 June 2024, accession negotiations officially began.
The next step is to open clusters and adapt legislation. In 2025, the Verkhovna Rada will continue to pass laws that integrate Ukraine into the European community.
The path to the EU is not just a political decision, it is a recognition of our common values: democracy, the rule of law and freedom.
We have made our choice and we will go all the way.
Ukraine will be a member of the European Union!
