On February 19, the First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko and Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Oleh Nemchinov co-chaired a regular meeting of the Interagency Working Group on Improving Legislative Drafting, Assessing Legislative Impact and Increasing the Efficiency of Laws Implementation.

Among the main issues discussed were the work of public authorities to ensure Ukraine's accession to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the progress of the implementation of the instructions given following the meeting of the Interagency Working Group on November 27, 2024. They also discussed foresight methods as a tool for increasing responsibility in public administration and strategy, as well as the prospects for creating the appropriate infrastructure in public authorities.

"Ukraine's accession to the OECD is an important area of work at the national level. We have identified a vector along which we are gradually moving. In particular, we are adopting the necessary legislative changes to get closer to the Organization's standards," the First Vice Speaker said. At the same time, he said, the process of Ukraine's accession to the Working Group on Combating Bribery in International Business Transactions, which is mandatory for OECD membership, is underway.

Oleksandr Korniienko thanked all the participants of the meeting for their reports on the issues discussed and for the constructive dialog. Further plans were developed to achieve strategically important goals for the state.
