One of the key points in President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Peace Formula is aimed at ensuring food security. This was emphasized by the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Oleksandr Korniyenko, during a meeting with Lilia Lemoine, a representative of the Chamber of Deputies of the National Congress of Argentina, and Ivan Dubois, a representative of Argentina in the Parliament of the Southern Common Market (Mercosur).
He also noted that during the meeting, the parties discussed strengthening interparliamentary cooperation. The First Deputy Chairman informed the guests that during a conversation with Fernando Iglesias, President of the Ukraine-Argentina Parliamentary Friendship Group, at the Forum 2000, they considered the possibility of holding joint meetings between parliamentary committees of both countries.
Oleksandr Korniyenko also drew the Argentine delegation's attention to the fact that the food crisis was caused by the unprovoked actions of the russian aggressor. "One of the points in Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Peace Formula is precisely focused on food security. This is an important aspect of ensuring a just, comprehensive, and long-lasting peace," he emphasized.
In the same context, the parties agreed on the importance of combating russian propaganda, which the enemy is trying to spread globally. "The truth must prevail," Korniyenko stressed.
During the meeting, the First Deputy Chairman also briefed his counterparts on Ukraine's path to European integration, the achievements in this area, and the next steps being worked on by the Ukrainian Parliament.
Finally, Oleksandr Korniyenko expressed gratitude for Argentina's support for Ukraine and for passing resolutions in the interests of Ukraine in the Argentine Parliament. "Even though we are far apart geographically, we always feel your solidarity!" emphasized the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
