The Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament Markéta Pekarová Adamová, arrived in Lviv, which was subjected to a massive attack by the russian federation at night.

This was reported on her Facebook page by the Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratiuk, who is also in Lviv.

“This morning, we have been in Lviv together with the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic, Markéta Pekarová Adamová. We immediately went to the sites of the destruction caused by the nighttime russian missile attack. They deliberately targeted the city centre – residential buildings and civilian infrastructure,” said Olena Kondratiuk.

She reminded that more than fifty buildings in Lviv were damaged as a result of the missile attack. Two hospitals and two schools were also hit. Seven people have been reported dead, including three children, and at least 38 injured.

“This is yet another terrorist attack and war crime by the russian federation, which Ms Markéta witnessed with her own eyes. Given the intensification of russian terror against the civilian population, I appealed to the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic to use all opportunities, both within the country and in inter-parliamentary diplomacy, to facilitate the transfer of modern air defence systems to Ukraine,” said the Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

“We also need help with the construction of shelters – in hospitals, schools, universities, wherever it is needed. This is the only way we will be able to resist russia's plans to depopulate Ukraine and ensure at least some kind of daily life for the country and society,” said Olena Kondratiuk.

The Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada also thanked all Lviv rescuers and medics for helping the affected residents.
