The Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk took part in the Ukrainian Youth Forum 2024 "Free to Dream". The event was attended by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal. 


"Young people are the future of our country, young people are the present of our country. It is these young, intelligent, motivated people who are already taking responsibility for our country," the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine said. 


Addressing the youth and representatives of youth organisations, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine first of all outlined the most important decisions in the field of youth policy adopted by the Parliament, including the laws on recognition of the Plast movement and peculiarities of state support for the Plast and Scout movements, on the basic principles of state policy in the field of strengthening Ukrainian national and civic identity, and on the basic principles of youth policy. At the same time, he stressed that the peculiarity of these adopted acts is that they were created together with young people, each act was discussed with young people, and the legislative basis for the state was created together. 


In his speech, Ruslan Stefanchuk noted that the Ukrainian Parliament is currently discussing the establishment of a youth advisory body. The Chairman of the Parliament of Ukraine announced the establishment of the Youth Council at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, noting that additional information would soon be available on the website of the Ukrainian Parliament. 


"Young people have always been the driving force behind all large-scale state changes. I believe that this will continue to be the case," the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine concluded, expressing special gratitude to those young people who stood up to defend Ukraine.
