The Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratiuk agreed on this with the Minister of Labour and Social Policy of Italy Marina Elvira Calderone.
"I appealed to the Ministry with a request to accept Ukrainian children, especially those from the frontline territories, for summer holidays and psychological rehabilitation! 266 children aged 3 to 17 will be taken to Italy for a holiday," said Olena Kondratiuk.
The parties discussed in detail social assistance programmes for Ukraine. In particular, the possibility of supporting the provision of social housing for internally displaced persons and those returning from abroad.
"I thanked the Minister and the Italian Government for caring about Ukrainians in Italy – the opportunity to have access to the labour market, career guidance and retraining, language courses, social protection and medical services. It is very important not to leave our people alone during the war with the difficulties they faced when they were far from home," said Vice Speaker Olena Kondratiuk.
They also discussed the next Ukraine Recovery Conference, which will be held in Italy in 2025.
"We expect that by this time the Ministries of Social Policy of Ukraine and Italy will have signed a joint Agreement on Social Security," the Deputy Speaker expressed her hope.
