On the sidelines of the NATO Parliamentary Leaders Summit, which takes place on 08-09 July in Washington, D.C., the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk met with the Speakers of the Parliaments of Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Iceland, Finland and Norway.
The meeting clearly demonstrated the unity of the Nordic and Baltic countries in supporting Ukraine.
During the meeting, the panelists discussed a wide range of issues related to assisting Ukraine in its struggle for freedom and independence and identified ways to expand such assistance.
The participants were united in the need to support Ukraine in strengthening its defence capabilities. The parliamentary chairmen welcomed Ukraine's opening of accession negotiations and exchanged views on Ukraine's accession to NATO.
Following the meeting, the speakers agreed to further develop the dialogue in this format and continue to support Ukraine.
