The First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko met with representatives of the UK Parliament from the Labour Party and Shadow Secretaries of State for Foreign Affairs David Lammy and Defence John Healey.
First of all, Oleksandr Korniienko informed about the security situation on the battlefield and the terror in Ukraine's energy sector.
“To protect our people, territories and critical infrastructure, we need more weapons – artillery shells, missiles and aircraft,” he said, noting that air defence remains a priority for Ukraine.
In addition, the First Vice-Speaker emphasised the need for Patriot air defence systems or similar systems.
“Ukraine must win by fully restoring its territorial integrity, and the aggressor must be held accountable for its unprovoked aggression,” he said.
In conclusion, the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine said that Ukraine appreciates the fact that our country remains a consolidating factor in the UK Parliament – and all political forces are united in their determination to support Ukraine until a complete and just victory.
The meeting was also attended by the Chairman of the Economic Development Committee, Dmytro Natalukha.
