The parties discussed a number of important issues, in particular, Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic path, the implementation of the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, strengthening of sanctions against the russian federation, and the reconstruction of Ukraine.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expressed gratitude for the support of the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the practical work on the implementation of its points.
“Ukraine highly appreciates Slovakia's support for Ukraine's European integration aspirations,” Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasized, noting that Ukraine has fulfilled all four steps set out by the European Commission in the enlargement package: “We are looking forward to the negotiation framework and are ready to move forward with reforms.”
At the same time, he emphasized that Ukraine is moving steadily towards the Euro-Atlantic path. “I hope that Slovakia will support Ukraine's path to NATO, because it is the right thing to do for the national security of both Ukraine and NATO member states,” said Ruslan Stefanchuk.
Among other things, the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine noted that cooperation between the parliaments of Ukraine and Slovakia has been at an extremely high level all this time. He thanked for the decisions taken in support of Ukraine and expressed hope for continued cooperation between the parliaments and active work through parliamentary committees and friendship groups.
Finally, the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine thanked for the significant role in Slovakia's readiness to be an important partner in the reconstruction of Ukraine, in particular, for its assistance in initiating housing projects for temporarily displaced persons in Ukraine.
