First of all, the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine expressed gratitude for all the support provided by Poland to Ukraine. He stressed that Ukraine has always appreciated it and will continue to do so. “We are grateful to the Polish society for helping our citizens who have found temporary shelter in Poland. For every Ukrainian, this assistance is invaluable, a practical foundation for Ukrainian-Polish cooperation,” said Ruslan Stefanchuk.

The security situation was the focus of the conversation, as russia continues its terror. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine noted that the situation on the frontline is difficult, while the russian federation continues to launch missile attacks on civilian objects and critical energy infrastructure.

Ruslan Stefanchuk outlined Ukraine's most urgent needs, including air defence systems, electronic warfare equipment, drones, ammunition and long-range missiles. “We really need the support of our partners, including Poland,” he said. In addition, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine noted the importance of Poland joining the Czech Republic's initiative to purchase shells for Ukraine.

The parties discussed strengthening sanctions pressure, in particular on sectors of particular economic importance to russia. “It is important to keep up the pressure. It is especially important that there are no loopholes to circumvent the restrictions,” said the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine, expressing gratitude for all the restrictive measures imposed against russia and belarus.

Finally, the interlocutors touched upon Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic integration and the importance of implementing the President Zelenskyi's Peace Formula, “which today remains the only realistic and comprehensive plan for restoring Ukraine's territorial integrity.”
