The Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratiuk met today with the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Ukraine Valeriu Chiveri.
During the meeting, the parties touched upon, in particular, the issue of preparations for the referendum on Moldova’s accession to the European Union, which was recognised as constitutional. It may be held as early as October 2024. The interlocutors also discussed joint counteraction to russian propaganda and disinformation, which is constantly trying to destabilise the situation in our countries.
Olena Kondratiuk thanked Moldova for its humanitarian support to Ukraine and care for tens of thousands of our internally displaced persons who have received temporary shelter. The participants of the meeting also discussed the issue of strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation.
The Ambassador of Moldova Valeriu Chiveri expressed his gratitude to the Ukrainian people for their resilience and unwavering fight against russian aggression. According to him, this is also an invaluable contribution to the security and stability of Moldova itself, which is being subjected to a hybrid war.
