“This is a great opportunity to emphasise important topics for our country, in particular in the context of interparliamentary activity,” said the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko.

At the same time, he noted that France's position on security issues was reflected in all parts of the world, so Ukraine is grateful to France for such leadership.

“For us, this is another evidence that our friendly countries are moving side by side in the right direction – towards justice, victory and preservation of democratic values,” stressed Oleksandr Korniienko.

“It is a great honour for us to welcome Madam Speaker and the delegation of the Lower House of the French Parliament to Kyiv today,” said Olena Kondratiuk, the Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. She also thanked Yaël Braun-Pivet for her women's leadership in supporting Ukraine.

In addition, Olena Kondratiuk stressed the importance of France's active role in security assistance and Ukraine's progress towards EU and NATO membership.

“We must unite the efforts of parliamentary diplomacy to condemn the abduction of Ukrainian children by russia and the entire international community must demand their early return home to Ukraine,” the Vice Speaker also said.
