First of all, the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk expressed gratitude to Slovenia for its assistance to Ukraine in countering russian armed aggression, as well as personally to the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia for joining the open letter to the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Mike Johnson on the introduction of the U.S. International Assistance Bill, which provides for the allocation of $60.06 billion to help Ukraine.

The parties also discussed defence support. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stressed the importance of the military assistance packages already provided by Slovenia to Ukraine. “At the same time, the Security and Defence Forces of Ukraine need additional units of military equipment,” he said, outlining the urgent needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The interlocutors also raised the issue of further sanctions against the russian federation. “It is important to keep up the pressure on russia to weaken its ability to finance the war,” said Ruslan Stefanchuk.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine noted that Ukraine appreciates Slovenia's support for the Ukrainian Peace Formula and looks forward to Slovenia's further active participation in all formats of consultations on the Ukrainian initiative and in working groups on the points of the Formula.

Finally, the parties discussed the reconstruction of Ukraine. For his part, the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine thanked for the already implemented projects in the Kharkiv and Zhytomyr regions and expressed hope for further involvement of Slovenia in the restoration of Ukrainian cities.
