First of all, the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine expressed his gratitude to the President of the Federal Council of Austria Margit Göll for her personal example of great humanity – in 2022 she sheltered a family of Ukrainian soldiers in her home. Ruslan Stefanchuk also thanked for the active assistance to citizens who were forced to leave Ukraine and found refuge in Austria.
At the same time, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine called for personal assistance in strengthening humanitarian support for communities in Ukraine. “Any humanitarian aid: ambulances, garbage trucks, construction and municipal equipment, prosthetics, rehabilitation – is very valuable and necessary for us,” he said.
The parties also discussed Ukraine's European integration and the implementation of the President Volodymyr Zelenskyi's Peace Formula. “Ukraine would be grateful for your help in engaging the countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America in the implementation of the Peace Formula,” Ruslan Stefanchuk said.
Finally, the interlocutors discussed in detail the strengthening of sanctions against russia. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine emphasised two aspects. Firstly, a global ban on the supply of dual-use goods to russia is needed, and secondly, it is necessary to prevent russia from circumventing sanctions.
