First of all, the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine expressed his sincere gratitude for Austria's support of Ukraine in the context of humanitarian and financial assistance, as well as European integration.

“We are counting on increased assistance in the humanitarian sphere,” said Ruslan Stefanchuk, expressing his belief that Austria is able to lead coordination between countries to help the Ukrainian people in a humanitarian way, in particular, in the issue of humanitarian demining in Ukraine.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine paid special attention to rehabilitation and prosthetics in the context of humanitarian aid. Ruslan Stefanchuk thanked Austria for its assistance in the treatment and rehabilitation of wounded Ukrainians. He also stressed that the issue of prosthetics for Ukrainian citizens affected by the hostilities is an urgent one.

The parties also discussed Ukraine's European integration. “Ukraine's membership in the European Union means strengthening European security and values,” said Ruslan Stefanchuk. He also spoke about all the legislative changes that Ukraine has made on the way to opening negotiations: “Further political and expert support from Austria is extremely important for our country.”

They also touched upon the issue of rebuilding Ukraine. “There are already many Austrian companies operating in Ukraine – it is important to develop this area,” said Ruslan Stefanchuk, adding that Ukraine is interested in Austria's active participation in the reconstruction process: “After Ukraine's victory, our country will become a country of opportunities – that's why we invite Austrian business to Ukraine.”

The parties also touched upon the issue of further sanctions pressure against russia. “It is difficult to win a financed war. Sanctions and political isolation of russia make it impossible for the aggressor to continue the war,” said Ruslan Stefanchuk.

The parties elaborated on the sectors that will limit russia's economic capacity: “The problem is not in sanctions, but in the great opportunities to circumvent them. Our task is to make this impossible by making sure that the full weight of the sanctions falls on russia.”
