First of all, the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk expressed his gratitude to the United States Congress and the entire American people for the assistance provided to Ukraine.
In particular, for $22.9 billion in direct budget support, and especially for defence assistance, which has already reached more than $44 billion.
"Further support cannot be stopped, as we are fighting for democratic values that unite the whole world today," said the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
That is why Ruslan Stefanchuk asked to urgently consider the budget request of the US Presidential Administration to finance additional expenditures to help Ukraine in the amount of more than $61 billion, which is vital for the continuation of liberation of Ukraine from russian invaders.
In addition, the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine noted Ukraine's requests for additional military and defence assistance, primarily air defence systems and long-range artillery.
At the same time, Ruslan Stefanchuk assured his American colleagues that Ukraine is on an irreversible path of reform: "We need them. Ukraine is implementing and will continue to implement all the legislative changes necessary for progress towards the EU and NATO. Ukraine is also open in the issue of accountability for all the assistance it receives."
He also noted that the most important words he heard during the conversation were the assurances that the United States would be with Ukraine all the time, until a common victory.
"In the battle between democracy and dictatorship, democracy must win," the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine emphasised during a working meeting with members of the U.S. House of Representatives, united in the Ukraine Caucus.
