The parties discussed further support for Ukraine, reconstruction, food security and European integration.
"The people of Ukraine highly appreciate the assistance that friendly Ireland provides us in these crucial times for Ukraine," the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine emphasized.
The Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine thanked the Government of Ireland for the comprehensive humanitarian, financial and political assistance provided to Ukraine, as well as for the support of the humanitarian initiative Grain From Ukraine. He also thanked the Irish Armed Forces for their participation in the EU Military Training Mission.
At the same time, Ruslan Stefanchuk noted that Ukraine is actively moving towards completing the implementation of the seven recommendations of the European Commission, taking into account the further steps identified in the interim assessment of the European Commission earlier in June: "We expect a final positive recommendation from the European Commission in October."
"On the eve of the European Council meeting in December, I hope for maximum consolidation of political support, and, in particular, Ireland's support in the context of the opening of negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU this year," the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine emphasized.
