During the working visit of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk to Japan, the Secretary General of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Viacheslav Shtuchnyi and the Secretary General of the Chamber of Deputies of the Italian Republic Fabrizio Castaldi signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the presence of the leaders of the Parliament of Ukraine and the Lower House of the Italian Parliament.
The parties agreed to cooperate within the framework of the partnership by sharing knowledge, experience and best practices.
In particular, in the organisation of parliamentary work and oversight in various areas, inter-institutional cooperation and technical assistance projects, professional capacity building, and the launch of joint events and projects to strengthen the role of parliaments.
Accordingly, the Ukrainian and Italian sides will conduct study visits to exchange best practices, organise conferences, seminars and other projects to improve the organisational and institutional capacity of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
It was also agreed to develop mutual cooperation in the implementation of international cooperation and technical assistance projects of both the Secretariat and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
