First of all, the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine expressed his gratitude to the Japanese Parliament for supporting Ukraine from the first days of the full-scale invasion of the russian federation, in particular, for the decision to transfer non-lethal weapons to Ukraine, “which is saving ordinary Ukrainians today, and needed for sheltering evacuated Ukrainians”.

“In addition to the hand of friendship, you have extended the hand of justice so that russia, as the aggressor, is brought to justice for its crimes,” Ruslan Stefanchuk said, informing his colleagues about the latest russian shelling of Ukraine: Kostiantynivka in Donetsk region and the port infrastructure of Odesa. It creates the obstacles for the import of Ukrainian grain.

“In the most difficult moments of our country, the Japanese people are with Ukraine! We hope that the decisions that will help Ukraine will continue,” said the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

For their part, representatives of the Japan-Ukraine Parliamentary Friendship Association – the Chairman Eisuke Mori and Secretary General Masahito Moriyama – assured that the Interparliamentary Friendship Group with Ukraine “consists of people who have the most friendly feelings towards Ukraine”.

They noted that they bowed their heads to the courage and love of Ukrainians for Ukraine, led by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi. At the same time, representatives of the Association assured that the entire Japanese people stand with Ukraine.
