“Ukraine is always in the centre of attention of the Bundestag. And I am sincerely grateful to the President of the German Parliament Baerbel Bas for this,” said the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine, expressing gratitude for the comprehensive assistance provided by Germany to Ukraine.
At the same time, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine noted that the situation at the frontline demonstrates the importance of prompt and enhanced assistance to Ukraine. He outlined a list of needs, primarily long-range weapons and additional air defence systems.
The parties also discussed the implementation of the President Zelenskyi’s Peace Formula and Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
“Ukraine’s accession to the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation is a guarantee of security not only for Ukraine, but also for Europe,” Ruslan Stefanchuk stressed, thanking the President of the Bundestag for her personal leadership in all these areas.
In addition, during the meeting, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine informed Baerbel Bas about the crimes that the russian federation continues to commit in Ukraine.
In conclusion, the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine thanked his colleague for opening an exhibition in the Bundestag dedicated to the Ukrainian cities destroyed by the war waged by russia.
