The Parliament of Ukraine consistently and responsibly implements the basic principles of European legislation on national communities. This was stated by the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko during a public discussion of the draft Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On National Minorities (Communities) of Ukraine”.
“The Ukrainian Parliament is one of the fundamental participants in this dialogue, as much is decided at the level of laws,” said the First Vice Speaker, adding that the promotion of this topic is in the focus of both the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the country’s leadership.
In addition, Oleksandr Korniienko expressed confidence that it will be possible to build a system of compromises that will help to strike a balance between the interests of national communities and the state.
“Feedback is important to us and we are grateful for it. We have a common task – to take steps forward and move on,” the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine concluded.
