On behalf of the Parliament’s leadership, the Vice Speaker Olena Kondratiuk took part in awarding and congratulating the staff of the Secretariat of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the occasion of the professional holiday – the Day of Civil Service.
First of all, the Vice-Speaker thanked her colleagues for staying in Ukraine and continuing to work responsibly, carrying out the mission of serving the Ukrainian people, despite a very difficult year of full-scale war.
“Thanks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who are defending Ukraine on the frontline, together with our diplomats, who are defending the country’s interests on the foreign front, together with volunteers, all those who treat and teach, our civil servants also ensure the life and normal functioning of the country. Especially women, who are the backbone of the Ukrainian civil service: out of 165,000 civil servants actually working today, almost 125,000 are women!” emphasised Olena Kondratiuk.
In addition, she called for taking care of the prestige of the civil service, speaking with gratitude and being proud of each and every one of the 4,000 civil servants who are mobilised into the Armed Forces and defend Ukraine at the frontline. Among them are 625 women civil servants.
The participants also observed a minute of silence in memory of all civil servants who died for Ukraine in this terrible war.
“I wish all civil servants health, strength and inspiration! Let us continue to work and confidently bring Ukraine’s victory closer, each and every one of us in our place,” wished the Vice Speaker Olena Kondratiuk.
The event was also attended by the Chief of Staff of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Viacheslav Shtuchnyi, employees of the Secretariat’s structural units and honoured guests – former employees with many years of parliamentary service.
