The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk paid working visits to the Ukrainian cities of Kherson and Mykolaiv.
During his working visit to Kherson, the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine joined a meeting of the headquarters for the elimination of the consequences of the emergency situation related to the blowing up of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station dam by the russian federation. The parties discussed the current state of water, gas, and electricity supply restoration, the environmental situation, the level of flooding, and the liquidation of the flood consequences.
At the same time, the participants of the headquarters meeting raised the issue of providing food and drinking water to residents of communities and settlements.
“The most urgent issue today is the mechanism of compensation for damaged and destroyed property and further reconstruction,” said the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
At the same time, Ruslan Stefanchuk noted that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is ready to promptly consider legislative initiatives that will help the region recover as soon as possible: “We will work in this direction in joint communication with the Kherson Regional State Administration.”
As part of his working visit to Mykolaiv, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, together with the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Vitalii Kim, held a joint meeting with representatives of the security and defence forces in Mykolaiv region.
“The main focus is on eliminating the consequences of the blowing up of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station by russia, the environmental situation, and helping the affected residents,” said the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine, expressing his gratitude to the local authorities for their round-the-clock work.
Finally, during his working visits to Kherson and Mykolaiv, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine presented awards of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the employees of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kherson and Mykolaiv regions.
