During his working visit to the French Republic, the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko met with Pieyre-Alexandre Anglade, the Chairman of the European Affairs Commission of the French National Assembly.
First of all, the First Deputy Speaker thanked France for its support and assistance. The parties also discussed further steps that will bring the victory over the aggressor closer and put an end to the war started by the russian federation.
At the same time, Oleksandr Korniienko stressed the importance of consolidating efforts to recognise the wagner group as a terrorist organisation by all European member states.
The participants also discussed Ukraine’s European
integration path. The First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine
informed about the current state of implementation of seven recommendations
from the European Commission on Ukraine’s path to the EU candidacy.
“We will not abandon the process of reforms in our country. We expect France to assist us in opening the negotiation process by the end of this year,” said Oleksandr Korniienko.
“Ukraine is a part of the European family and we will help it as long as it needs it,” stressed Pieyre-Alexandre Anglade, the Chairman of the European Affairs Commission of the French National Assembly.
