On the sidelines of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, the Ukrainian delegation headed by the First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko met with NATO PA President Joelle Garriaud-Maylam.
The parties discussed the necessary steps and substantive assistance that Ukraine needs on its way to victory.
At the same time, Oleksandr Korniienko emphasised Ukraine's aspirations for North Atlantic integration:
"We have clear expectations from the Vilnius Summit, including a specific algorithm for Ukraine's accession to the Alliance."
In conclusion, the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expressed his gratitude for the support of Ukraine. "Together with our international partners, we will achieve global security and put an end to the imperial ambitions of the russian federation," he said.
The meeting was also attended by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation Oleksandr Merezhko,the Chairman of the Committee on Youth and Sports Andriy Kozhemiakin,the Chairman of the Committee on Ukraine's Integration into the European Union Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence, Head of the Permanent Delegation of Ukraine to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Yehor Chernev, the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Law Enforcement Galyna Mykhailyuk, the member of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs and Security of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
