This year, Azerbaijan will host two groups of Ukrainian children for rehabilitation.
The Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratiuk agreed on this with the Minister of Social Protection and Labour of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sahil Babayev.
During the working meeting in Baku, which took place as part of her official visit to Azerbaijan, the Vice Speaker thanked the Government of Azerbaijan for the hospitable reception and rehabilitation of 87 Ukrainian children in 2022.
“Among them were children of Ukraine’s defenders. I appealed to Mr. Minister to facilitate the rehabilitation of Ukrainian children in Azerbaijan this year. Sahil Babayev assured me that Azerbaijan supports Ukraine and is ready to receive and rehabilitate two more groups of Ukrainian children,” said Olena Kondratiuk.
“Azerbaijan’s full support for Ukraine is our official position. We will help and fully contribute to the development of Ukrainian-Azerbaijani relations,” said Sahil Babayev, in turn.
During the conversation with the Minister of Social Protection and Labour of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine also raised the issue of providing an apartment to the family of the fallen National Hero of Azerbaijan from Ukraine Viktor Seriohin.
The family of the Hero, who lived in Kharkiv, lost their home during the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by russia. It is now known that family members have found refuge in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku.
