In the framework of his working visit to the Republic of Estonia, the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine delivered a speech at the Lennart Meri International Security Conference.

The 16th Lennart Meri Conference is being held under the title “Incipit Vita Nova – This is how a new life begins”. The event brought together politicians, analysts, military officers and academics from around the world to discuss global security. Among the main issues discussed at the conference was the future of Ukraine and the russian federation, in particular, how the war started by russia has changed the security dynamics of its closest neighbors.

russia continues to bomb Ukrainian cities with the sole purpose of destroying Ukraine and Ukrainians as a nation.

“It is necessary to stop russia forever and guarantee European and global security,” Oleksandr Korniienko emphasized in his speech, saying that right now russia continues to bomb Ukrainian cities, killing civilians with the sole purpose of destroying Ukraine and Ukrainians as a nation.

He emphasized that security can be ensured by: strengthening sanctions against the terrorist state, in particular, the russian missile and drone industry. “Personal sanctions should be imposed against pro-kremlin propagandists, athletes, journalists, artists, as well as russian officials involved in the illegal deportation of Ukrainian children,” said Oleksandr Korniienko.

Responsibility of the russian federation for its crimes should become an inevitable process.

At the same time, according to him, the responsibility of the russian federation for the crimes committed must be ensured, which should become an inevitable process. “We must restore justice for the sake of the memory of all those whose lives were taken by russian terror,” the First Deputy Chairman of the Parliament of Ukraine emphasized, calling on every state to join the creation of a special tribunal for the crime of aggression against Ukraine to bring the russian military and political leadership to justice.

Ukraine’s membership in the EU and NATO is a guarantee of long-term peace and stability.

“It is important to continue timely military and technical assistance from our partners, which is necessary to end the war with a victory for Ukraine,” said Oleksandr Korniienko, adding that Ukraine’s membership in the EU and NATO is a guarantee of long-term peace and stability.

Ukraine will not compromise on issues of sovereignty or territorial integrity.

In addition, the First Vice Speaker expressed his belief that together with its partners and allies, Ukraine will defeat russia and restore its territorial integrity within internationally recognized borders: “Ukraine will not compromise on issues of sovereignty or territorial integrity. No country in the world wants peace more than Ukraine. But we also know that true peace must be just and lasting.”

In conclusion, Oleksandr Korniienko expressed his gratitude for the support of Ukraine in its struggle, as the security of the world begins with the security of Ukraine.
