During a working visit to the Republic of Estonia, the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko met with the Second Vice Speaker of the Riigikogu (Parliament) of Estonia Juri Ratas.
The parties discussed Ukraine’s aspirations to join NATO. “Adoption of the statement of support for Ukraine’s accession to NATO is extremely important for us on the eve of the NATO Summit in Vilnius,” emphasized Oleksandr Korniienko.
“Our common task should be for the allies to make a decision on Ukraine at the Vilnius summit – we need a clear algorithm for Ukraine’s movement towards the North Atlantic Treaty Organization,” said the First Vice Speaker.
At the same time, he noted that Estonia is a true leader in terms of the total amount of military assistance to Ukraine per capita.
In addition, the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine informed his colleague about the current situation in Ukraine and the recent missile attacks on Ukrainian cities. He emphasized that the russian federation must be brought to justice: “We are talking about establishing a special tribunal to investigate the crimes of armed aggression of the terrorist state on the territory of our country.”
In conclusion, Oleksandr Korniienko expressed his gratitude to the Republic of Estonia for its comprehensive support and substantial assistance on the way to victory.
