This was stated by the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko during a meeting with the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Duarte Pacheco during his working visit to the Republic of Lithuania.
In particular, the parties discussed the ways of cooperation between the Interparliamentary Union and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, as well as potential changes to the organisation's charter.
"On our initiative, two consecutive IPU Assemblies have condemned the actions of the russian federation," said Oleksandr Korniienko. He added that the resolutions called for an immediate end to russia's military occupation of Ukraine's sovereign territory and the restoration of its territorial integrity in accordance with internationally recognised borders.
In conclusion, Oleksandr Korniienko thanked the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Duarte Pacheco, for his support of Ukraine's sovereignty and important steps towards victory and justice.
