Ruslan Stefanchuk personally presented the award to the President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic during a bilateral meeting.
“I thank all the Czech people and your Parliament for their strong support of Ukraine. This is our important, highest award for foreign citizens. And of course, Ms. Marketa is among the most deserving nominees for the award,” said Ruslan Stefanchuk.
He also added that the Czech Republic is always among the first countries whose decisions and resolutions are important in supporting Ukraine and our fight against the russian aggressor. And it is the Czech Republic, like no other, that understands what it means to win back the values of democracy and civilisation.
In addition, during the meeting, the parties discussed a number of important issues in further cooperation and strengthening of relations at the intergovernmental and parliamentary levels.

“We very much hope that the work of the Ukrainian Parliament and Government, the President of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people will be appreciated by our colleagues from the EU, and Ukraine will be able to open negotiations on full membership this year,” the Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament said.

He also thanked the Czech Parliament for its important political decision to recognise the Holodomor of 1932-33 as genocide of the Ukrainian people as ‘an important act of historical support for Ukraine’.

She also noted that
cooperation at the level of the parliaments of our countries has been very
fruitful recently, and ‘our next task is to bring Ukraine into the EU’.
