During the working visit of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk to the Czech Republic, the Chief of Staff of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Viacheslav Shtuchnyi and the Secretary General of the Spanish Congress of Deputies Carlos Gutierrez signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the presence of the Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk and the President of the Spanish Congress of Deputies Meritxell Batet Lamana.
The parties agreed to share knowledge on European issues and establish principles and methods of cooperation in accordance with common areas of interest.
In particular, in the areas of improving the efficiency of the parliament, including work in the negotiation process, parliamentary oversight and harmonisation of Ukrainian legislation with the EU acquis; strengthening the role of parliaments and parliamentary diplomacy; strengthening international dialogue and citizens’ faith in European values; creating opportunities for development and participation in EU international cooperation projects and technical assistance projects based on the principle of mutual benefit.
