During the working visit of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk to the Czech Republic, the Chief of Staff of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Viacheslav Shtuchnyi and the Secretary General of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Cyprus Tassoula Ieronymides, in the presence of the Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk and the President of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Cyprus Annita Demetriou, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

The parties agreed to share knowledge on European issues and establish principles and methods of cooperation in accordance with common areas of interest.

 

In addition, the Secretariat of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Secretariat of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Cyprus agreed to develop mutual cooperation in the following areas: intensive dialogue between parliamentary expert services, communication and information exchange; transfer of professional experience in the EU accession process, harmonisation of legislation and monitoring of accession negotiations; joint promotion of the importance of the role of national parliaments in the European integration process; facilitation of dialogue with state institutions involved in the European integration process; cooperation in building the capacity of parliamentary expert services; joint implementation of EU international cooperation projects and technical assistance projects.
