At the call of the heart!
9 years ago, in 2014, hundreds of Ukrainians took up arms and went to defend Ukraine, its sovereignty and independence.
On 24 February 2022, when russia launched a full-scale invasion, we once again felt the immense power of the volunteer movement, as thousands of Ukrainians united on the same day to repel the enemy.
Today we celebrate the Day of the Ukrainian Volunteer and I thank every one of you who, without hesitation, consciously and of your own free will, stood up to defend your homeland. Those who fought with honour and dignity for the blue and yellow flag in our cities and villages. And who every day, at the cost of extraordinary efforts, bring our Victory closer.
Today and always, we bow our heads to every defender who gave the most precious thing while fighting for freedom.
