The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk took part in the ceremony of awarding the employees of JSC “Ukrainian Railways” with the awards of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The event was also attended by Oleksandr Kamyshin, the Chairman of the Board of JSC “Ukrainian Railways”, Viacheslav Shtuchnyi, the Chief of Staff of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, members of the company’s Board, and railway workers.
In his opening remarks, Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasized that despite the difficult days for our country, we should not forget to be grateful, especially to the employees of such powerful, complex state-owned enterprises as Ukrzaliznytsia.
“From the first days of the war, you have been keeping your ‘iron’ front: passenger transportation in all directions of the country, evacuation trains under fire for civilians and wounded soldiers, cargo transportation, escorting our international guests. And so on – 24/7. You are one of our main fronts, providing life support to the state and the people, the front and the rear,” the Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament addressed the railroaders.
He once again thanked the "iron" people, the management of Ukrzaliznytsia for their dedication to their important work, the state and the Ukrainian people and expressed his sincere wish that “the train of our Victory will run across Ukraine as soon as possible.”
In addition to presenting personal awards to the railroaders, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine awarded the entire staff of JSC “Ukrainian Railways” with a special distinction – the Certificate of Merit for Services to the Ukrainian People.
Oleksandr Kamyshin, the Chairman of the Board of JSC “Ukrainian Railways”, echoed the words of gratitude from the Ukrainian Parliament to his railroad colleagues who did sometimes impossible but very important things for the country during the war.
In particular, according to him, the railroad made a great contribution to strengthening parliamentary diplomacy when it accompanied foreign delegations and leaders to attend meetings of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine or meetings with Ukrainian colleagues to support Ukraine in its fight against the aggressor.
“The railroad has really made a lot of efforts to ensure that parliamentary diplomacy, ‘iron’ diplomacy, works at its full potential for our victory. “The ‘iron’ team and ‘iron’ people are what makes Ukrzaliznytsia a great company,” emphasized Oleksandr Kamyshin during the award ceremony.
