As part of the art tour “Honoring Memory. Light for Hope”, the world-famous Swiss light artist Gerry Hofstetter “paints” prominent buildings and monuments of Ukrainian cities in blue and yellow colors.

The artistic projections are dedicated to the anniversary of the full-scale war in Ukraine and commemorate the victims of russian aggression, and also reproduce Ukrainian symbols of invincibility.

The action near the building of the Ukrainian Parliament was accompanied by a performance by the famous clarinet virtuoso Julian Milkis.

Commenting on the event, Gerry Hofstetter said that the idea for the action was born in August 2022. The first art show was held in Ukraine over the Christmas holidays. This time, in February, the artist came to Ukraine at the invitation of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy. According to the artist, he dreams of organizing a winning several-month show in all cities of Ukraine and expressed hope that this will happen as soon as possible.

To mark the anniversary of the full-scale invasion, Gerry Hofstetter has already illuminated prominent buildings in Lviv and Odesa, as well as the building of the Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital in Kyiv.

The tour continues and will last until February 27.

Event organizers: The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, the State Agency of Ukraine for Arts and Art Education, the Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine, the Embassy of Ukraine in Switzerland.
