Within the framework of the working visit, the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine met with the President of the Republic of Estonia Alar Karis.
«I am grateful for the significant assistance in this struggle and express it on behalf of the Ukrainian people. After all, we not only feel, but also see that Estonia is with us — with its decisions, support and assistance,» Oleksandr Korniienko emphasized.
At the same time, he informed the President of Estonia that Ukraine had already fulfilled 90 percent of the conditions for the continuation of the European integration process: «We are clearly following the chosen direction — the European Union».
Also, the First Deputy Chairman informed on the necessary assistance in the struggle against russian aggression and emphasized the necessity of continuing the sanctions pressure against russia.
«It is important that the UN Security Council should be reorganized. russia should not be a permanent member of the UN Security Council and the UN in general. That is why we would like to create a coalition of countries to initiate these issues,» said Oleksandr Korniienko.
In addition, the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine said that now it is worth focusing on the restoration of critical facilities for people’s lives. Fast Recovery is a plan for the rapid restoration of social infrastructure and the passage of the winter period: «I invited Estonia to take an active part in this process».
«Estonia will support Ukraine as long as necessary to win the full-scale war of russia against Ukraine, » the President of Estonia Alar Karis emphasized: «We must not allow the aggressor to undermine the basic principles of the international order or dictate new ones. The future of the European security architecture depends on our decision today. russia must bear full responsibility for its crimes of aggression». Finally, he said that Estonia has sent to Ukraine generators, warm clothes, food packages and various components of the energy system — everything that is needed to survive the winter and win the war: «Our current military assistance to Ukraine is over 255 million euros».
