«One of the main tasks of Ukraine is to engage the world in the concrete implementation of the points of the peace formula. We must return the Flag of Ukraine to all cities and communities, we must ensure the real responsibility of the terrorist state for this war, we must guarantee the safety of all generations of Ukrainians after the end of this war,» the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko stressed during a speech in the Parliament of Estonia (Riigikogu).
The First Vice Speaker noted that on November 15 this year, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi presented a ten-point peace plan to end russia’s war in Ukraine in a virtual speech to the G20 leaders: «The peace formula consists of ten points – from nuclear security to the restoration of the territorial integrity of our state, from energy security to the return of all prisoners of war and deportees held in russia».
«Real peace will be brought by the Ukrainian victory. This goal is quite achievable, and we proved it with successful counterattacks in Kharkiv and Kherson this autumn. The victory of Ukraine will also be the victory of Europe and the West, » Oleksandr Korniienko emphasized.
At the same time, the First Deputy Chairman of the Parliament of Ukraine noted that «while we are talking, russia continues to bomb Ukrainian cities, killing peaceful Ukrainians with the sole purpose of destroying Ukraine and eliminating Ukrainians as a nation».
«russia’s war against Ukraine has demonstrated the value of stability in our region, » said Korniienko, adding that this is one of the historical mistakes of the russian leader: «With his barbaric aggression, he only proved that the security of Ukraine and the Eastern European region is critically important for global security, and any aggression in our part of the world is a global crime».
In addition, Olexandr Korniienko stressed that to restore justice, russia must answer for the policy of genocide. He expressed gratitude to Estonia for supporting the establishment of the International Special Tribunal for the Crimes of Aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine.
«We are grateful to all our partners who have been with us all the way. We thank Estonia for its huge political, military, humanitarian and financial support. Estonia was the first country to recognize russian crimes in Ukraine as genocide at the level of the Parliament, one of the first to declare the russian regime a terrorist one and the first to start practical reconstruction of Zhytomyr region. Estonia remains a strong supporter of Ukraine’s membership in the EU and NATO, » he noted.
The First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko expressed conviction that in difficult times there is no other way to overcome global challenges but unity: «Together we will overcome all difficulties and ensure the restoration of peace – in Ukraine, Europe and the world».
«russia still has missiles and superiority in artillery, and we have something that the occupier does not have and will not have. We defend our home – this gives us the strongest motivation. We are fighting for the freedom of Ukraine and the whole Europe. This unites the whole world around Ukraine, » the First Vice Speaker emphasized.
