“What is a capable community? It is when the russians destroyed half of the commuties, the entire infrastructure, and you continue to work,” said the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko during an open dialogue: “The Parliament and local self-government: dialogue about the future”.

The First Vice Speaker noted that Ukraine needs to fulfil the primary task – to restore after all the destruction and damage caused by the russian federation in the war against Ukraine: “This is our common cause and responsibility”.

“Why ours? Because self-government and government must work as elements of one mechanism that will ensure the successful implementation of the goal,” he added.

In addition, Oleksandr Korniienko noted that Ukraine has a wide range of tools for the implementation of the recovery plan, implementation of opportunities as stated by local self-government.

“This dialogue is an important platform for discussions to hear and be heard. Thank you for organizing this meeting and the opportunity to talk in a dialogue format. Together we will overcome the enemy and all the consequences of aggression,” said the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

On the Day of Local Self-Government, the First Vice-Speaker awarded the representatives of local self-government with the Gratitude of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Diplomas and Acknowledgements for “significant personal contribution to the socio-economic development of the region, development of local self-government and active public activity”.

For reference. The event was also attended by MPs of Ukraine: members of the Committee on Budget, Committee on State Building, Local Self-Government, Regional Development and Urban Planning.
