The First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko awarded and presented valuable gifts to the soldiers of the 54th separate mechanized brigade named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa during a visit to Donetsk region.
People’s deputies of Ukraine also took part in the event: the Chairman of the Committee on National Security, the Defencte and Intelligence Oleksandr Zavitnevych and the Chairman of the Committee on Transport and Infrastructure Yurii Kisel.
“We see the heroic struggle of our Armed Forces of Ukraine. Today, I had the honour to personally shake hands with those who defend Ukrainians, the state, independence and freedom with arms,” stressed Oleksandr Korniienko during the presentation.
At the same time, the First Vice-Speaker noted that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is working to bring the date of victory closer: “We are adopting important draft laws to support the army, there are successes on the diplomatic front, we are talking with international partners about increasing support.”
In his turn, the Chairman of the Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence Oleksandr Zavitnevych thanked the defenders of Ukraine and wished them good health and military courage to defeat the enemy as soon as possible.
“The main heroes are our Armed Forces of Ukraine! We will conquer Luhansk, Crimea, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions. We are returning to Kyiv to bring victory closer together and to continue to work more charged and inspired on the diplomatic and legislative fronts,” emphasized the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko.
During the event, the participants paid tribute to the memory of the Heroes who fell for Ukraine with a minute of silence.
