Together we must liberate Ukrainian Crimea from russia, — Ruslan Stefanchuk

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk, during the first day of the First Parliamentary Summit of the Crimea Platform in Zagreb, Croatia, held a meeting with pro-Ukrainian Crimean activists. Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi, President of the German Bundestag Barbel Bas and First Vice-President of the European Parliament Othmar Karas also joined the event.

"I had the honor to meet with our compatriots - people of special courage who, despite the persecution of the russian punitive machine, continue to fight for human freedoms," said Ruslan Stefanchuk.
He expressed his gratitude to fellow speakers "for the time and opportunity to listen to the stories of Ukrainians who witnessed the crimes of the russian federation and who wholeheartedly seek de-occupation."

"These are the stories of the Ukrainian people and, at the same time, of Ukraine, which suffers from the brutal aggression of the russian federation, but did not give up and continues its just struggle. These are stories of courageous Crimeans who did not break down and challenged the totalitarian system. Today they need our help," said the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine.
At the meeting, the participants discussed the issue of total violation of human rights on the Crimean peninsula, kidnapping of activists, journalists, restriction of freedom of assembly and freedom of speech, repression.
"This is only part of the crimes committed by the russian authorities in Crimea. The world must know the truth! Together we must liberate the Ukrainian Crimea from russia," urged the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine during the meeting.
