"The next step that we are planning and will work on with our colleagues before the next Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, which will take place in the spring, is the exclusion of the russian federation from this organization," First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko emphasized on the air of the national telethon, talking about the results of the working trip to Africa.
The First Deputy Speaker emphasized that Ukraine's position is very clear with regard to all international organizations — the UN, the Council of Europe, and the OSCE, "the russian federation must be excluded from everywhere, because a terrorist country, a country that cooperates with other terrorist countries, has no right to be in no international organizations, but should become a country-in-exile."
Oleksandr Korniienko noted that serious work is underway to "convince more and more new countries to gradually switch to Ukraine's side", expressing confidence that this support will only increase.
"Ukraine now has a strong position, because it is possible to theoretically discuss what is happening with security in the world, and Ukrainians experience it every day," said the First Deputy Speaker, noting that Ukraine will continue to say that "the current security system in the world doesn't work, it cannot be that a permanent member of the UN Security Council attacks a peaceful country, committing absolutely terrible things, including missils attacks and genocide."
In addition, Oleksandr Korniienko stated that interaction at the level of parliaments is important for the promotion of our news and history, "We spoke with parliamentarians of dozens of countries during these few days of the Assembly." He added that these meetings are working, because then they reach the level of specific discussions and decisions.
"Every vote in the UN General Assembly is important to us. That is why we work with countries that do not vote or abstain, leave the hall. And we will continue to work," emphasized the First Deputy Speaker, adding that these countries will support Ukraine even more over time, because they see that Ukraine is fighting - and fighting for its own, "Nobody in the world likes annexation, I'll tell you this honestly. The history of russia's attempts to annex our territory, even in the form of fake "referendums", was very displeasing even to neutral and third countries."
