"Azerbaijan is an important strategic partner of Ukraine in the Caspian Sea, and the G20 Parliamentary Speakers summit was a good opportunity to strengthen parliamentary cooperation between our countries.» The Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratiuk had a meeting on the sidelines of the G20 Heads of Parliament Summit with Sahiba Ali gizi Gafarova, the first female Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

 On behalf of Verkhovna Rada, She thanked the Speaker of the Parliament of Azerbaijan for supporting sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. «In turn, I assured that Ukraine has always supported and will support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.» Olena Kondratiuk said.

 «We expect that Azerbaijan, as a strategic partner of Ukraine, will strongly condemn russia's holding pseudo-referendums in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, and will also not recognize their results.» Deputy Speaker stressed at the end of the meeting.
