First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniyenko, met with the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Security of the Italian Republic Adolfo Urso, and thanked him for his visit to Ukraine. "We appreciate Italy's comprehensive assistance from the first days of russia's full-scale war against Ukraine and a clear signal about our membership in the EU and readiness to join the reconstruction of Ukraine!»

 Oleksandr Korniienko stressed that we are also sincerely grateful to Adolfo Urso, the head of the Italian Parliamentary Committee on Security, for his steadfast pro-Ukrainian position!

 «Ukraine continues active counteroffensive actions, returns its territories, and knocks out the russian invaders from Ukrainian land! However, we need:
 - heavy weapons;
 - increasing sanctions pressure on the russian federation;
 - taking precautionary measures against holding pseudo-referendums in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine;
 - further financial assistance and constant humanitarian support from our partners.

 The situation at the ZNPP remains alarming for the whole world, as confirmed by the report of the IAEA mission. Recently, the Verkhovna Rada called on the parliaments of other countries to recognize russia's actions at the ZANP as an act of terrorism. So we hope for the support of Italian parliamentarian colleagues in this matter.» First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine emphasized.

Oleksandr Korniienko noted that they also talked about the de-occupation of Crimea, which is critically important for the security of Ukraine and Europe. «We hope that the Italian Parliament will be represented at the Parliamentary Summit of the International Crimean Platform in Zagreb at the highest level.» First Deputy Speaker said.

 «The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is interested in cooperation between the parliaments of Ukraine and Italy, in particular, at the level of interparliamentary friendship groups and specialized committees.

I am grateful to the Italian colleagues for a common vision!

 Let's work together to win!" Oleksandr Korniienko said at the end of the meeting.
