"Eight years of war and more than six months since the start of a full-scale invasion – Ukraine is fighting, Ukraine is giving birth to new heroes. They are among us. And they are above us – those who, with weapons in their hands, gave their last breath for the Motherland, for the future of children and their people – and they continue to protect us," stressed Oleksandr Korniyenko at the ceremony of laying flowers at the Wall of Memory of those who died for Ukraine on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance of defenders of Ukraine who died in the struggle for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
During the event, the First Vice-Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament also spoke with the families of the fallen defenders about the problematic issues that concern them.
