At the next plenary session, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine plans to consider the draft law on combating money laundering in accordance with the standards of the International Financial Action Task Force (FATF), as required by the European Commission, said the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk in a comment to the Interfax-Ukraine agency".
"The issue of strengthening control over financial transactions, the so-called FATF. We will vote on this bill at the next meeting of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine," said the Speaker of the Parliament.
As reported, ensuring compliance of Ukrainian anti-money laundering legislation with FATF standards is one of the seven requirements of the European Commission in connection with granting Ukraine the status of a candidate for membership of the European Union and maintaining it in the future.
