Today we celebrate Flag Day.
The flag for which tens of thousands of Ukrainians died in the last 8 years and 6 months.
A flag that is honored by millions of people of different nations worldwide.
The flag that inspires us to victory and without which we cannot imagine our national identity.
My daughter Kira once came home from kindergarten and said: "we were drawing Ukraine." I expected to see landscapes with huts, but the picture showed only a blue and yellow flag. Actually, Kira still asks when she sees the flag: "Oh, why is there Ukraine?"
Children, as always, give good hints. Where our flag is, Ukraine is there. United, indivisible, sovereign, and independent. In the heart and thoughts of each of us!
Happy National Flag Day!
