Together with the First Vice-Speaker of VRU, Oleksandr Korniyenko, he visited Bucha and Borodyanka, Kyiv Oblast.
Gerard Larcher spoke with the current heads of the towns’ communities and "better and more deeply understood the problems that exist in the suburbs of Kyiv after the terrible russian occupation."
Chairman said that after visiting the Kyiv region, the delegation members "don't leave here the same way they came here, because what they saw was extremely impressive." He added that it is crucial that those guilty of war crimes — representatives of the russian federation and its leadership — bear responsibility.
"It is impossible to be a permanent member of the UN Security Council, but at the same time do so that none of the values ??on which the current world order is based are respected, as happened in Bucha. We should provide Ukraine with greater support in the military sphere," said Gerard Larcher.
