Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, met with the German delegation led by Deputy Chairman of the Bundestag Committee on Foreign Affairs, Thomas Erndl.

The Speaker of the Parliament emphasized that a meeting was already held with the participation of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, where further steps of each branch of government were determined.

"As for the Parliament, we will work in two main directions. First, we will take into account all the comments received from the European Commission and the European Council regarding which steps must be taken immediately," the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine noted and added that the second stage is the immediate adoption of the necessary laws.

"Each plenary meeting, we will devote several hours to the adoption of laws related to European integration. Or we will devote a separate plenary day to European integration bills," said Ruslan Stefanchuk.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada emphasized:  "Work on the adaptation of Ukrainian legislation is ongoing. We do not need preferential conditions. We will walk this path with honor.”

For his part, Deputy Chairman of the Bundestag Committee on Foreign Affairs, Thomas Erndl, noted that Germany supports Ukraine's aspirations to become a full member of the European Union and is ready to provide an expert assessment in the adoption of the necessary legislative changes.
